His Scarf.

I wore Max's scarf all day today. He loved wearing his scarf in winter. Even as the day warmed up I couldn't take it off. I could smell his aftershave, I could smell him. He was so close yet so far. I miss him so much.

That’s nice Vee! At least you can still be close to him that way……….
I remember him wearing his scarf in the Blue Mountains.
Hugs to you.

Smell is something we often take little notice of, yet it's so powerful. I can't remember my (late) grandmother growing oregano in her garden, but years later, every time I smell fresh oregano it's like I'm with her, digging in the soil around the front of her old house.

I hope, in time, these sorts of things become a comforting reminder. Right now, they must still be pretty raw.

I can only imagine how sad and yet comforting it was to have him with you. I know that smell is something that attracts me to people...that when I down and sad, I cuddle into Mr Kir and just breathe him in. I am glad that you have pieces of him that you can breathe in when it's hard to not have him to touch.
